Carmen D. Caruso Law Firm Adds Senior Counsel
Carmen D. Caruso Law Firm announces the addition of Senior Counsel James C. Stevens. Stevens has successfully conducted hundreds of jury and bench trials and argued numerous cases in federal and state appellate courts.
Stevens joins the firm after serving as a Deputy Bureau Chief and as a Special Assistant Attorney General with the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. During his time with the Illinois Attorney General, Jim prosecuted and defended complex litigation for the State of Illinois, its agencies and officials.

Stevens’ wide experience includes class action litigation, civil rights and employment discrimination cases in federal and state courts, constitutional challenges to statutes and regulations, administrative review of licensure revocations and statutory enforcement cases, prosecution for the recovery of fraudulently acquired state and federal funds, analysis and revision of agency rules, regulations and procedures, administrative review cases, personal injury claims, injunctive matters and other regulatory issues.
He received his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. Stevens is admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Trial Bar, and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois.
