James C. Stevens

Senior Counsel

James C. Stevens is Senior Counsel to our Firm adding substantial depth and experience.  For over 30 years Jim served as a Deputy Bureau Chief and as a Special Assistant Attorney General with the Office of the Illinois Attorney General.  During his time with the Illinois Attorney General, Jim prosecuted and defended complex litigation for the State of Illinois, its agencies and officials.

Jim’s wide experience includes class action litigation, civil rights and employment discrimination cases in federal and state courts, constitutional challenges to statutes and regulations, administrative review of licensure revocations and statutory enforcement cases, prosecution for the recovery of fraudulently acquired state and federal funds, analysis and revision of agency rules, regulations and procedures, administrative review cases, personal injury claims, injunctive matters and other regulatory issues.

Over the years, Jim has successfully conducted hundreds of jury and bench trials and argued numerous cases in federal and state appellate courts.  Jim is a member of Federal Trial Bar for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and he is extraordinarily well-suited for the challenging cases our Firm fights for our clients every day.
